OUR HISTORY
In 2004, Sven dos Santos moved from Germany to Brazil and founded a real estate agency specializing in vacation rentals; he had to manage the business using spreadsheets. As the company grew, the spreadsheets reached their limit, preventing the company from taking the next steps.
At the time, there was no other solution. So Sven decided to come up with one.
In 2009, Sven asked a programmer to develop a simple software program for managing accommodations. With the first version of the system in hand, Sven worked on improvements as problems arose.
Everything changed when Sven met Till Pupak, who brought his expertise as a product designer to the project. In 2012, a new, more modern and responsive website was launched.
To integrate the website into the system, Sven brought in Sergey Korotkov, a software engineer and owner of a programming company. Within four months, the software was fully updated.
From the server to the cloud – and with a new look, ready to conquer Brazil.
With the new version of the software, the company experienced rapid growth, became the leader in the Brazilian market, and hosted more than 3,000 guests during the 2014 World Cup.
Until then, the system had been used only by Sven’s real estate agency, but it held great potential to generate value for other businesses. In 2015, Sven traveled to the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) trade show in the United States to learn about other systems on the market. When he returned, he was certain that his solution would be competitive and could help other hosts as well.
In 2016, Sven decided to sell his real estate agency and founded Stays together with his co-founders, Sergey and Till.
At the end of 2020, after reaching a 55% market share in Brazil, the time had come to take the next step: expanding internationally. Today, Stays is already present in dozens of countries, particularly in Latin America.
In 2022, yet another milestone was added to Stays' history. The merger with the Decolar Group spurred expansion in Latin America and ensured exclusive integration with the Latin American giant’s platforms.

OUR TEAM
Stays' growth only happens because we have a team of people dedicated to making our customers' experience the best possible. In 2022, we almost tripled our team. We started the year with 35 employees and closed it with 87.
In 2023, we reached the milestone of 100 employees!
And we’re not stopping there. We’ll continue to seek out the best professionals to help us fulfill our mission of delivering the best and most comprehensive vacation rental software.
